A Javeline armed unit is currently deployed within the JFO area – Pavliuk

A unit armed with the US Javeline ATGMs is currently deployed within the JFO area, said Oleksandr Pavliuk, the commander of the Joint Forces Operation in his interview for Donbas.Realii.

The Joint Forces Headquarters previously was denying the fact of use of Javelin missiles against the Russian occupation forces during the fighting in Donbas.

Oleksandr Pavliuk refused to comment on recent statements about the use of Javeline missiles against the Russian occupation forces in Donbas.

– I never comment on the actions of our units – this is our military affair. If someone wants to comment on our actions – we cannot forbid doing this.

Continuing his dialogue, he confirmed the presence of these systems at the frontline in a particular unit:
Yes, the JFO forces are equipped with Javelins. The unit is constantly studying options for action in the most threatened areas.

In case of aggravation of the situation Mr. Pavliuk reassured that the systems can be put to good use:
If necessary – we are ready to use them and everything else – you just hear in the comments of people who think they have the right to comment on our actions.

The discussion began with an interview with Kyryl Budanov, Head of the Main Intelligence Agency, to the leading military publication, the Military Times, the text itself mentioned that Budanov allegedly spoke about the use of Javelin system against the Russian occupation forces in Donbas in the JFO area.

The text of the interview even provoked a reaction from the top Russian diplomat, who called it an “aggressive plan of the Ukrainian military”.

We remind that the first Javelin systems were delivered to Ukraine in May 2018, and in December 2019 the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine signed a contract with the United States for the supply of the second batch of these anti-tank missile system. Since then, several consignments of American ATGMs have been delivered to Ukraine.
