In the occupied part of Moldova, preparations are ongoing to prepare it to be receiving aircrafts at the Tiraspol airfield.

Militarnyi reports about this with reference to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian General Staff does not rule out that Russia would be using the territory of the so-called ” Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic” to support its offensive operations.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are prepared to respond to the attempts of involving the Russian units from this direction in hostilities.

“Enemy’s efforts to intensify existing forces from the territory of the self-proclaimed Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic to support its offensive operations in the South are being monitored by us, and our forces are ready to respond. Preparation of the airfield may indicate the intensification of air attacks,” said Vladyslav Nazarov, Officer of the Operational Command “South”.

According to him, the enemy is also conducting air reconnaissance, but the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces are prepared.

Colonel Nazarov also assured that the security and defense forces in the South of Ukraine are protecting the safety of residents.

“We are doing everything to ensure that the situation in the region is stable and controlled,” said the spokesman of the Operational Command South.

Recently, Serhiy Borzov, Head of the Vinnytsia Regional State Administration, called upon the so-called “military of the PMR”, which is being forced to take part in the war with Ukraine, to side with our country.

“I am being written to, called to from the Southern districts of Vinnytsia region. This is interesting. Our neighbor at the border of the region is unrecognized Transnistria. There, rumors spread among the local population about the personnel of the Armed Forces of the so-called PMR being forced to participate in the war against Ukraine. Therefore, I appeal to those who could be entering our territory: surrender yourself, the chances of survival are zero,” Borzov said.

He noted that the PMR army, which is positioned in the occupied part of Moldova, could be used in the war against Ukraine as a distraction maneuver.

There are doubts about its combat effectiveness, therefore it does not pose an immediate military threat.
