The Canadian military continued the Operation UNIFIER to train the Ukrainian servicemen. Currently the drills are conducted in Great Britain.

Photos from the training were released by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian military learns mine safety and receives the tools and knowledge to overcome battlefield threats.

In particular, the training is conducted by instructors of the 1st Combat Engineer Regiment of the 1st Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group of the 3rd Canadian Division of the Canadian Armed Forces.

As previously reported, in August 2022, Canada relaunched Operation Unifier for the Ukrainian servicemen. The operation is now being conducted in Great Britain.

The Canadian government noted that the training will follow a flexible curriculum focusing on the individual skills of the soldier. The training includes weapons handling, battlefield first aid, fieldcraft, and patrol tactics.

The operation UNIFIER was launched back in 2015 at the request of the Ukrainian government, and early this year was expanded and extended until March 2025.

The training mission helps to form and increase the capacity of Ukraine’s law enforcement institutions while working towards achieving interoperability with NATO.

The mission was temporarily paused following the February 2022 Russian invasion forces full-scale invasion of Ukraine, with a commitment to resume training when the situation allowed.
