On Thursday night, a drone attacked the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation.

Vasily Golubev, governor of the region, announced this.

According to him, the drone crashed into the structure of the inter-shop flyover of the oil refinery, which is currently under construction.

The drone exploded after hitting the structure. As a result, a fire broke out.

“At night, an unmanned aerial vehicle crashed into the construction of the plant’s inter-shop overpass in the area of the village of Kiselevka, Krasnoselsky district, at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery, after which it exploded,” a Russian official said.

The governor of the Rostov region added that the alleged fire, which rose as a result of the drone explosion, was immediately extinguished by the enterprise’s forces, while the emergency services were not involved.

According to a Russian official, no casualties or victims were reported, and the damage to the buildings of the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery is allegedly insignificant.

On the morning of June 22, 2022, a fire has already occurred at this enterprise.

The fire started around 9 a.m. at the oil refinery. Then, it was reported that the oil refinery could have been attacked by a drone.

Later, a video featuring an alleged drone attack on a Russian oil refinery, which crashed into an oil refinery, was posted online.

A fire once occurred at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery, which was built in 2009. It is the largest supplier of oil products in the south of Russia. The enterprise produces fuel oil, diesel fuel, and gasoline.

On the night of May 3, a tank with petroleum products caught fire in the village of Volna, Temryuk District, Krasnodar Krai, Russian Federation. At the same time, local social media groups reported that explosions were heard before the fire started.
