Sean Penn assists the Ukrainian pilots to lobby for the US assistance

American actor Sean Penn is assisting Ukrainian fighter jet pilots getting aid from the United States.

The conversation covered the necessity to provide military assistance to the Ukrainian Air Force as soon as possible.

“It’s not a big grand ask, it’s a very practical ask. If it is possible to match the air technology of the Russians, it will be a significant help from the American authorities,” said Sean Penn.

When asked about the fact that officials in Washington could consider such assistance to become a potential escalation threat, the actor replied that every day, people die in Ukraine, and such assistance will only aid in stopping the war.

“I am not a believer in that, we have announced that we will support Ukraine, and we are supporting Ukraine to this date. What is happening in Ukraine is already a wide escalation. If the appropriate decision is taken, the main question would be how long the implementation will last,” he said.

In an interview with CNN, the Ukrainian pilot with the call sign “Moonfish” said that in the “air-air” actions, the Russian pilots have more modern equipment.

“We believe that if the United States would help us we could be better resisting the enemy. Such equipment (American aircraft, – ed.) will stop the Russian invasion,” – said the Ukrainian pilot.

Previously, the American Congressmen introduced legislation outlining the training of Ukrainian fighter jet pilots.

This legislation will allow the United States to begin training Ukrainian pilots and technical personnel to use the F-15, F-16, and other aircraft while the United States continues to consider transferring this equipment to Ukraine.

According to Congressmen, it is very important for the Ukrainian military to be trained to use these aircraft if Russia continues its war against Ukraine.

Regardless of whether the United States and its allies will transfer such equipment, this program will strengthen Ukrainian capabilities and ensure their long-term stability and security.
