Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal had a discussion with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on a number of issues to support Ukraine.

The meeting of officials took place in Germany. During the conversation, they talked about financial issues and additional arms supplies for Ukraine. It is reported by the Government Portal.

Denys Shmyhal said that Ukraine hopes to receive a new nomenclature of German heavy armored vehicles from the allies. We are talking about tanks, because it is the weapon that is currently lacking in the Ukrainian military.

“We have a common vision of the need to increase the supply of artillery systems and air defense systems.

First of all, increase the types of heavy weapons that have already been delivered or will be delivered in the near future: MLRS MARS-2, Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers, IRIS-T Air Defense Systems and Gepard anti-aircraft guns, – said the Prime Minister.

In addition, Denys Shmyhal spoke with Olaf Scholz about the possible increase in the supply of weapons that we are already receiving from Germany and applying on the battlefield.

Last Friday, it became known that Ukraine expects to receive Abrams tanks from the United States and Leopard 2 tanks from Germany.

This was stated in a conversation with German journalists by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmyhal.

At the beginning of the full-scale war, Germany supplied Ukraine with only protective equipment or helmets, but today the military also receives modern weapons: air defense systems, jet systems and artillery systems.

The Prime Minister noted that Ukraine wants to receive even more support from Germany as soon as possible.

Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine hope to have not only German, but also American modern main battle tanks.

In early August, the Armed Forces of Ukraine received a second batch of Gepard SPAAG from Germany.
