Ten Ukrainian pilots completed initial flight training in the United Kingdom.

This was reported by the official website of the Royal Air Force.

They have now completed initial training that will allow them to transfer to the combat training version of the F-16 aircraft.

The pilots will undergo in-depth training on combat vehicles that will allow them to qualitatively increase their piloting skills.

The newly qualified pilots took part in a graduation ceremony to mark the event, recognising their success with basic flying, aviation medicine and high g-force training ready for their next steps towards being combat ready.

I would like to congratulate these brave pilots on completing their initial training here in the UK. Thanks to the world-renowned skills of RAF, they have received some of the best training available and are now a step closer to joining the fight against Putin’s illegal invasion, said Grant Shapps, UK Secretary of State for Defence.

In addition, the pilots took English courses, which allowed them to fully understand the advice of the instructors, as well as the training process itself.

In general, during initial flight training, pilots were trained in basic aircraft control skills, instrument flying, low level navigation, and advanced formation flying.

At the time of their diplomas, the pilots underwent basic flight training on Grob Tutor T2 trainers 100%.

Earlier, Militarnyi reported that in December 2023, the first group of Ukrainian pilots underwent a basic flight training program in the United Kingdom.

The group consisted of six experienced Ukrainian fighter pilots. Now Ukrainian pilots are being trained to fly F-16 fighters in Denmark.

The Royal Air Force began training Ukrainians in flight training and English in August 2023 as part of Britain’s contribution to the international aviation coalition.
