Russia will not be able to hold a naval parade in Sevastopol on Navy Day this year.

The media of the Russian Federation reported about this.

Russia has said that the reason for this is the involvement of warships in hostilities that will not let them take part in the parade.

The naval parade on the day of the Russian Navy in occupied Ukrainian Sevastopol is usually held in late July, this year – July 31.

Preparations for the annual parade staged in St. Petersburg and Kronstadt are known to have started already, as well as in the port of Tartus in the Mediterranean.

The Uglich fast attack guided missile craft and the Yunarmeets Tatarstana counter-terror boat of the Caspian Flotilla will make the voyage from the home base in Kaspiysk to St. Petersburg for participation in the naval parade.

Ships and boats of the Caspian flotilla are traditional participants in the parade, for which they make a passage of more than 2.5 thousand km of inland waterways.

In total, the parades will involve up to 200 warships of various classes, about 80 aircraft, more than 100 units of military equipment and about 15 thousand servicemen and civilians.

On May 23, a group of Russian ships in the Black Sea, consisting of seven large landing ships and two missile ships, was joined by one of the newest ships of the Black Sea Fleet from Sevastopol – the frigate “Admiral Makarov”, which increases the threat of missile fire on Ukraine.

As of the end of the day on June 5, a Russian ship and a submarine loaded with cruise missiles remained in the Black Sea. A total of 12 such munitions are on them. This was reported by the Operational Command “South”.

Also, 5 large landing ships are at full alert for active operations, which makes landing quite possible. Therefore, the command urged southerners to be careful.

“The ban on visiting the coast, which is currently not a place of rest, but a potential line of defense, warnings about the dangers of swimming in the sea due to the threat of detonation of sea mines are just as important as air raid alarms,” the statement said.
