The ruscists are regrouping amid the announcement of statements about reducing the military activity near Kyiv and Chernihiv.

The Ministry of Defense of the russian federation has made a public statement about its intention to reduce the intensity of the offensive actions against Kyiv and Chernihiv.

Aleksandr Fomin, russian Deputy Defense Minister, announced this after negotiations between the Ukrainian and russian delegations in Turkey.

The russian official explained that the preparation of the agreement on neutrality and the non-nuclear status of Ukraine is moving “into the practical realm.”

“Taking into account the principles discussed during today’s meeting, the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation decided to drastically reduce military activity in Kyiv and Cherkasy to increase mutual trust and create the necessary conditions for further negotiations to achieve the ultimate goal and sign the agreement as mentioned earlier,” Fomin told reporters.

This was preceded by a statement from Sergey Shoigu, russian Defense Minister on concentrating the efforts on the occupation of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.

“In general, the main tasks of the first stage of the operation have been completed. The combat potential of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has been significantly reduced, which allows us to focus our attention and efforts on achieving the main goal – the liberation of Donbas,” said the head of the Ministry of Defense of the ruscists.

It is worth noting that the desire of the Russians to reduce the intensity of hostilities in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions appeared the day after the liberation of Irpin by the Ukrainian forces. Lukyanivka and Rudnytske, villages on the left bank of the Kyiv region, have also been liberated in recent days.

Observers of russian military activity in the territory of the belarus note that on March 28th, there was a high intensity of movement of russian equipment movement. The most significant intensity of movements was within the Gomel region that borders Ukraine.

Combat equipment in the convoys could belong to the Airborne Forces of the rf Armed Forces: BMDs, armored personnel carriers “Rakushka,” MLRS “Tornado-G”. Cars with the Ukrainian license plates were spotted in convoy – probably they were stolen by the ruscists in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

On March 29, 2022, 70 Russian BMDs were spotted at the Richitsa railway station and later loaded onto platforms.

Observers recorded the convoy’s movement with BMDs-4 from the South to the North in the direction of the Gomel railway station.

In theory, the russian equipment in Richitsa and Gomel could be sent in two directions – eastern and southern. This means that the ruscists may plan to transfer their paratroopers either to Chernihiv or through russia to the directions in the East (Sumy, Kharkiv, Donbas).

Also, these maneuvers began before the statements of the Ministry of Defense of the russian federation on the reduction of combat activity in the Kyiv and Chernihiv areas. Therefore, the regrouping maneuvers are not related to the results of the agreements in Istanbul.

After the failure of the “blitzkrieg,” the russians are concentrating their efforts on capturing Mariupol, consolidating their influence in the occupied territories of Kherson Oblast and the Azov Sea and trying to surround the Ukrainian forces in the area of Joint Forces Operation.

Militarnyi also reported that the ruscists were gathering paratrooper units in the Kyiv region for a possible attack on Kyiv.
