Ukraine has access to exclusive data from the GEOSAT 2 satellite. This was made possible through the agreement signed by the EOS enterprise owned by businessman Maksym Polyakov.

The Universe. Space. Tech informed about this.

Due to an agreement reached over a month ago, Ukraine becomes the de facto co-owner of a multispectral optical satellite and receives exclusive satellite data from GEOSAT 2. The satellite is providing data with ultra-high resolution. Ukraine will be able to access data on the territory at a distance of 100 km from its state borders.

The ability to have access to the images of this quality will strengthen the space reconnaissance and improve the quality of collected data on the damage that Russia caused to Ukraine during the war.

“The real challenges facing Ukraine have uncovered a lack of quality satellite imagery for many areas. Our access to GEOSAT 2 will be useful for all sectors of the Ukrainian economy that are using satellite analytics in their activities in the long run. However, access to satellite data is extremely important for operational military intelligence,” Polyakov said.spa

Polyakov also noted that he is ready to invest in military and intelligence technologies aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s security. According to him, Ukraine should not depend on the delays from the international partners.

The GEOSAT 2 system provides high-quality and cost-effective services to customers around the world. The satellite operates in a synchronous orbit with an average altitude of 620 km with a local ascent time (LTAN) of 10 hours 30 minutes, which allows obtaining data with an average frequency of revisiting being two days around the world (one day in mid-latitudes).
