Ukrainian servicemen showcased a trophy: Russian BMP with full ammo

The troops of the Defense Forces of Ukraine showcased the trophy BMP-1, which was abandoned by the Russians. The infantry fighting vehicle is in good order and has full ammunition.

According to the servicemen, they received the trophy at the end of August near the Bakhmut of the Donetsk region.

They noted that the battery terminal in the vehicle is slightly damaged. It has already been replaced, so the vehicle will be used against the invaders.

“What makes this gift to our soldiers unique is that it is fully functional, only the terminal on the battery was burnt. [We] Changed the battery, started it. [It’s] With full ammunition, in good order, I believe it will still serve,” the Ukrainian servicemen said.

The Ukrainian soldiers also showcased the condition of the captured equipment, which the Russians named “Boniface.”

The video shows that the Russians left inside the BMP ammunition for a cannon and a machine gun.

The BMP-1 is an amphibious tracked infantry fighting vehicle designed to transport personnel to the front line, increase their mobility, armament and security on the battlefield, and engage in joint actions with tanks in battle.

The BMP-1 is armed with the 73-mm 2A28 smoothbore gun equipped for 40 rounds. A 7.62-mm machine gun is paired with a cannon. Guidance is carried out by electric drives. Cumulative and fragmentation rounds can be used for firing at targets.

The cannon can fire at a rate of fire of 8-10 rounds per minute, the aiming range of which is 1300 m.

As previously reported, the day before Zaporizhzhia Territorial Defence soldiers captured the Russian Orlan-10 drone.
