Warehouses of the the military–industrial plant catch fire in Bryansk region of Russia

In the settlement of Dyatkovo in the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation, the warehouses of the Aleksandr Research and Production Enterprise, which manufactures optical systems for military and civilian purposes, have caught fire.

The local mass media reported on the incident with reference to the regional office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

It is known that the fire started at 8:28 a.m. and was extinguished at 9:13 a.m.

According to preliminary data, no casualties were reported.

The probable losses that the enterprise might sustain are currently unknown.

The cause of the fire is unknown either. Official authorities have not released any reports about the fire or its consequences.

It should be noted that the city of Dyatkovo is located in the northeast of the Bryansk region. The distance to the border with Ukraine is more than 140 km.

The Aleksandr Research and Production Enterprise works on the order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, in particular, for the design and development of high-precision optical parts and systems for aviation, space, military and special equipment.

The enterprise distinguished itself by having manufactured the Uran-9 tracked unmanned combat ground vehicle with the use of their own products. The vehicle is intended for fire support of ground forces during hostilities and reconnaissance.

The unmanned combat ground vehicle was used during hostilities in Syria.

The factory produces lenses and glasses for night vision binoculars that work with electro-optical devices.

Also among the company’s products are aspherical devices, sighting devices, thermal imaging lenses and lenses with variable and focal lengths, including for the infrared range, mirror and mirror-prism optical systems, systems for converting laser beams, as well as various non-standard and unique stands for monitoring parameters of optical systems.
