Motor Sich will upgraded helicopter of Transport Aviation Brigade

Motor Sich Public joint-stock company will carry out overhaul with modernization of the helicopter of the Air Force Transport Aviation Brigade.

The Mi-8TP helicopter will undergo overhaul with upgrades to the MSB-V level.

15th Transport Aviation Brigade is carried out the gradual renewal of the air transport force.

Mi-8TP is a passenger version of a helicopter built to carried administrative staff during missions. It has a radio station with a wire rope antenna, available in flight, and the working place of the operator of this station.

Developed by Motor Sich, Mi-8 MSB-V is a Ukrainian version of the Soviet multipurpose Мi-8 helicopter modernization.

During the modernization of the Mi-8 to the level of MSB, a re-motorization is carried out during which the motors are ТV2-117 replaced with new, more powerful turboshaft engines ТV3-117VМА-SBM1V a series of 4Е produced by Motor Sich with an electronic launch.

Mi-8МSB-V during modernization receives additional equipment:

• new systems for collecting, registering and processing flight information;
• emergency radio beacon;
• laser system of sighting brand FPM-01кv forming;
• optical-electronic suppression station “Adros”;
• combined device of release of thermal false targets “Adros” KUV 26-50;
• screen-exhaust devices АSh-01V to reduce temperature and dissipate exhaust gas flows.

In addition, extra fuel tanks and armaments can be installed on the helicopter: guided and unguided missiles, small-gun weapons, up to six bombs or a VSM-1 helicopter mine laying system.

Since the beginning of production in Zaporozhye modernized helicopters, the company has sold about 100 such helicopters. A significant part of them was delivered to the Ukrainian military.

In 2021, the 15th Transport Aviation Brigade received a Mi-8 MSB-V helicopter. Then, the multipurpose helicopter underwent a comprehensive repair and modernization.

In addition to the new engines (TV3-117VМА-SBМ1V series 4Е), the upgraded helicopetrs was equipped with a modern navigation and communication system, a cartographic-plan system with a satellite communication module, a new weapon manage system, so on.
