The law enforcement officers established the fact of the war crimes being committed by the Russian military in Hostomel
On February 25, the invasion troops had been shooting at civilian cars in Hostomel for six hours. Law enforcement officers identified five Russian soldiers involved in this crime.
The Office of the Prosecutor General reported on this.
Law enforcement officers identified 11 victims and 41 eyewitnesses to the crime. During the investigation, 57 examinations and 9 investigative experiments were conducted.
Investigators obtained the video from surveillance cameras that were working near the shooting site, and a video recording of a witness to the events.
It was possible to identify five Russian soldiers who had been shooting civilian cars. They were notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 438 of the Criminal Code (violations of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder).
These are the servicemen of the combined detachment of the National Guard of Russia units from the cities of Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk in the Kemerovo Region, along with the special services detachment from the Krasnoyarsk Krai of the Russian Federation.
The invaders were moving towards Kyiv, but they failed to reach the capital of Ukraine. Thus, on February 25, they assumed a position in Hostomel.
In the area of Shevchenko and Sviato-Pokrovska streets, for over six hours, the aggressors were shooting at the cars transporting local residents trying to evacuate. The SSU reported that it was established that the criminal order to shoot at civilians was given by the commander of the “OMON” unit, his deputy, and a representative of the command of the National Guard of Russia in the Krasnoyarsk Krai.
The invaders killed five civilians and wounded six more.
The deceased also include a citizen of the Russian Federation. A German citizen and two employees of the Bucha District Police Department are among the injured during the incident.
The National Police of Ukraine released a video capturing the victim testimonies.
As previously reported, a mission of French investigators has arrived in Ukraine and will work together with Ukrainian colleagues to document crimes in the de-occupied territories of the Kharkiv region.
