The Polish company Mista has produced the 100th Oncilla armored vehicle for a ‘Ukrainian customer’.

Defence24 reported on this.

The Polish defense company stated that in 2024 it had already produced a hundred Oncilla armored vehicles ordered by Ukraine, which are now actively engaged in hostilities.

In the course of hostilities, these vehicles were seen in use by the Armed Forces and the National Guard of Ukraine. In addition, they have also been in service with several units of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

“We are focused on production, on meeting clear delivery schedules for vehicles to our Ukrainian customers,” says President of the Board, General Director of the company.

Mista actively cooperates with soldiers on the front lines and studies the experience of using equipment on the front lines. According to its representatives, Ukraine has a strong service network.

In particular, it is known that repair crews of the developer of this armored vehicle, the Beryl Design Bureau, are arriving on the front lines to restore the equipment.

The company notes that during the war, a number of vehicles were seriously damaged or completely destroyed, but they have not received confirmation of any crew losses during the attack.

Polish developers are also actively working to study and implement the experience gained in Ukraine to develop the next generation of Oncilla II armored vehicles.

“Obviously, we receive a lot of feedback from soldiers who use our equipment during the fighting in Ukraine. This helps us not only to refine and improve our existing product, but also to plan its further development. That is why our designers are already working on the Oncilla II vehicle. We want this to be our response to the needs of the front line. We want to use all our best experience in mine protection for the vehicle, which we are proud of,” says Oleksandr Leshchenko, Mista Board Member.

The company is reluctant to talk about the promising vehicle. It is known that it will have a modified body, be larger and heavier than the current models. The company also presented a graphic model of the future prototype.

Obviously, the increase in weight entails the need to strengthen the chassis and replace the 190-horsepower Deutz engine with a more powerful one.

The vehicle may also receive a more powerful combat module to replace the current machine gun turret for 7.62-mm and 12.7-mm machine guns.

“One of our goals is to equip Oncilla II with a new remote-controlled combat module with a 14.5-mm machine gun,” says Oleksii Huziev, Vice President of the company’s Management Board.

A machine gun of this caliber, namely the KPVT, will allow the vehicle’s crew to fight not only infantry, but also fortifications and light armored vehicles such as Soviet APCs and IFVs.
