Ukraine will soon receive self-propelled howitzers and kamikaze drones from Great Britain
The Armed Forces of Ukraine will soon receive self-propelled howitzers and kamikaze drones from Great Britain.
This became known following talks between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of Great Britain Boris Johnson.
This morning, as reported by the press service of the British government, President Zelenskyy set out the current situation in Ukraine for the Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
In his turn, the Prime Minister made an update on the latest UK military equipment, including 10 self-propelled artillery systems and loitering munitions, which would be arriving from Great Britain to Ukraine in the coming days and weeks.
The press service of the British government did not specify the number and type of kamikaze drones.
It is also unknown which self-propelled howitzers the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive. Whether this regards to previously purchased M109 self-propelled howitzers, or British AS-90.
As previously reported, the United Kingdom purchased for Ukraine more than 20 Belgian M109 self-propelled howitzers and refurbished it.
Britain redeemed ACSs for Ukraine from a private arms company.
Recently the UK virtually doubled its military support to Ukraine with an additional £1 billion (over $1.2 billion).
Previously, the United Kingdom announced a major training program for the Ukrainian forces.
In addition, Ukrainian military personnel is training to use multiple rocket launcher systems and artillery in the UK.
The United Kingdom and Norway are cooperating to provide Ukraine with long-range multiple rocket launchers (MLRS). This regards the M270 multiple launch rocket launchers.
